Last year our coursework was to produce an opening sequence to a film. In doing this I was able to accumalate a variety of skills that can be applied to this years courswork.
Last year, all of our coursework was flimed on site at our college. This limited our artistis visions as we were no brave enough to film off site and explore how we could produce the best possible piece for our opening sequence.
However, as a result of this i was able to explore my editing skills to its full extent as I had to create a piece that was up to the standard I set myself.
Exospirit had several flaws looking back on it, such as the camera being out of focus, the compostion often being off centre, also the camera appears canted in some places. Although, it was our first practical piece of work as we are quite proud of it, there can be several adjustments made to imrpove it.
If I could go back and change anything about our final piece, I would;
-re-shoot all scences and possibly explore outside of the college.
-try different shots, to vary the perspective of the given piece
-play with the lighting when panning down in the beginning of the sequence
-change the editing style (such as have a more defined narrative but use flashbacks to emphasise tramua)
Overall, last year's coursework was successful as we were able to acquire several skills that are applicable to this year's coursework when making our musice video.
