Editing the shots

Today we began editing the shots we were able to accumulate over two periods(lesson time). Unfortunately we were unable to gather enough footage to do the whole 1minute of the original MV, but Colin explained that as long as we had 15-30 seconds + , the piece will allow us to evaluate what we've learnt from the task and how we can apply these new skills and what not to do when filming our actual coursework.
Aligning the action shots(lip syncing shots) was proven to be a little difficult if you don't have an eye for detail and sound, after the first action shot I found it easier to align the lip syncing with the music effectively, were it was on beat and in sync, there was a clip that I have to cut and slow down to allow the syncing to be in time with the music, but overall it was a fun to edit and select the shots that we wanted to use together while also having a laugh at how embarrassing some of the shots are.
We learnt through some of the shots we couldn't use that, when using the shoulder pod, use the handles to make sure the camera is level.. otherwise you end up with slanted shots that can't be worked with.
As a whole I think we had fun shooting and editing the piece together and everyone's input allowed us to do about 21 seconds, we are going to try add some more shots with the final piece next lesson to see if we can get to the chorus of given song.
