Audience Type

In order to decipher our audience type, I looked at my own interests, values and aspirations and created a visual representation in the form of a mood board to show this. Firstly, I think that our target audience is from the age range of 16- 25 and predominantly females. Their social background would be students to young adults from a working class background that are working towards a goal/ one of their aspirations. I think their music taste wouldn't be stuck to one particular genre of music, I think they would like a variety of not all genres or an artist from each genre i.e Kanye West & Drake to Kpop to possibly even psychedelic rock or even indie.

If we look at my mood board and start at the top left hand corner there is a variety of artists (FKA Twigs,SZA,Ellie Goulding,Rihanna, Lianna La Havas and Jhene Aiko), I used these artists as I think our audience would have similar values to these artists regarding being who you want to be and not caring about what other people say about it.

If you continue to the right we see a few fashion styles, evidently there to show what our audience will dress like occasionally, with a combination of trainers, to show that our audience can be girly but also are sneakerheads(individuals that find leisure in collecting trainers from different brands such as adidas and Nike).

We then see a university campus, art galleries, afternoon tea and jazz bars, I used these images to emphasis that our target audience are quite cultured and like to spend their time experiencing different forms of art(education, music, food or illustrations) either on their own or in groups. Travelling down to the bottom right we see a variety of social networking mediums; to Instagram, Twitter, tumblr and soundcloud. Two mediums focuses predominantly on images (Tumblr and Instagram) and the other two focus on either music of social contact/ conversion topics etc.

Moving towards the bottom left we see anime, novels, comics and dance to emphasise that our audience enjoy their own company by watching/reading different things; and doing self expressive activities such as dance.

We lastly see Camden, Ex- local houses and uniforms, to represent that all in all our target audience are quite cultured and enjoy places such as Camden, shoreditch, Oxford street etc but also come from a decent background which overlays into the idea that some of our audience still may be students, hence 16-25 year olds.
